ArielWe have been very lucky with rehoming recently, even my beloved Ariel has found a loving new home where she is absolutely loving her new life. Thank you to everyone who donated money towards the operation she needed on her leg. We wouldn't have been able to do it without you.

On the flip side we have not been so lucky with the poorly dogs and September's Vet bill was £4250 (deep intake of breath!) so if you can make a donation no matter how small it would be very much appreciated. We know finances are tight and we do all we can to keep costs to a minimum. We are run entirely by volunteers and the majority of our food is kindly donated and we couldn't keep going without this support so thank you all. However, unfortunately it never ends and just as we get one dog mended and rehomed another comes through the door so your ongoing support is desperately needed.

I watched a DVD the other day called Hotel For Dogs. It was very good fun and had a happy ending for all of the dogs found as strays and taken to the pound. I just wish all stray dogs could have happy endings!KerryBrian

Kerry & Brian (our webmasters) came over last weekend to say their goodbyes. We were all very sad to have to see them off, but I know they are going to have a wonderful new life in the Falklands. However they are staying on as webmasters, so will still be very involved with saving dogs and helping the rescue so all is not lost!

We have got 7 dogs coming in today (Sunday 4th October) which should keep us busy for a while at least! They are:

2 lurcher puppies

1 Female Rough coat (Bedlington x Whippet) about 2-3 years old

2 Female Whippets (mother and daughter 5 years & 12 months old)

1 young male lurcher (8-10 Months)

And finally 1 smooth coated brindle boy lurcher who is about 2 years old.

Also take a look at our beautiful deerhound crosses Carys and Shilah on the dogs for adoption pages - they are to die for!

Finally a date for your diaries, our annual prize draw: The draw will take place on the 24th October at our coffee and cake morning 10am - midday at Christine’s. There are loads of cash prizes to be won, so join us at for a nice cuppa and you could leave a lot richer!
