Poppy was one of Amber's puppies that was fostered by Vicky from Hereford.
We adopted her in February and changed her name from Fat Mabel [yuk] to Poppy. You called her that because she so liked her food and still does, but you can tell that she is not fat in anyway.
She has turned out to be the most loving friendly dog you could imagine. We live very near Hartlebury Common in Stourport and most days that is where Poppy has three runs every day with occasional trips to the Wyre Forest. Runs are the best way of describing her outings as she charges about the common looking for any dogs she can find to play with or playing ball.
It is a pleasure to watch her having a great time. She has been good on and off the lead right from the word go and does not show any agressive behaviour even when playing with big Labs and retrievers who tend to knock her over. She loves the grandchildren as you can see from the pictures. We enrolled her in an obedience class mainly to get her more used to other dogs and after ten weeks she had to pass a test which she did and won best dog and handler. She still thinks every dog wants to play chase and wrestle but is learning that the older dogs aren't always up for it.
Please pass on our thanks to Vicky and tell her that the start that she gave Poppy has helped turn her into a lovely happy friendly dog. If any of the people who adopted Amber's other pups could write in and say how they are getting on we would love to know.
Best wishes Jeanne and Roger.
