Murphy had his op a couple of months ago now and at first it was really hard work for us and for him. After his op, he was feeling quite low and would not leave his stitches alone. We had to use a box muzzle as he was terrified of the umbrella collar and I mean terrified! His stitches were taken out a bit at a time as they were on his knee joint. For four weeks, Murphy was confined to the garden for his exercise so he couldn’t exert himself after this we were able to take him out on very short walks and then gradually build this up to longer walks.

We saw the vet two weeks ago and she said that we could start increasing his exercise levels and we are now able to use a flexi lead to give him a bit more freedom on his walks. We are now walking twice a day for 30 minutes, sometimes 40 minutes because so many people asking us how he is doing!

We are due back at the vets in one week and all being well he will be allowed limited off lead exercise, still no running with playmates or throwing balls, etc. but we cant wait for that day to come when once again he can run free with his friends but for now Murphy is so much happier now he is allowed out into the world again. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that donated to Murphy’s fund. We didn’t quite meet the full cost of Murphy’s operation so if anyone still wants to make a donation, they can.
