MURPHY

Hi. My name is Murphy and so far, life hasn’t been so kind to me. I am only six months old and things haven’t been too good.

When I was only a few weeks old, I was dumped on a hillside with my brothers and sister and left to freeze to death but thankfully, a lady came along and rescued me. She fed me and gave us a warm bed which was great. One by one, the rest of my brothers and sisters found a new home, then the lady contacted EGLR and I was taken into a foster home where I was looked after while I waited for a forever home.

Soon it was my turn. I really thought life was on the up and up. A lovely family came to pick me and took me home. They gave me lots of cuddles and love and I even had my own bed and collar so I knew that this was my forever home. But after just a couple of days, my new mom took me to a place called the vet. They found that I have a damaged leg. I couldn’t remember hurting it but because I was always on the go, I guess I never noticed it. For some reason, mom was really sad about what the vet man had said as he had mentioned an operation. Not sure what this is but he said this was the only way that I could live a normal pain free life.

Unfortunately, this is going to cost a lot of money to make my leg right again so my mom picked up the phone to Pip who runs EGLR (where I came from). She explained to her what had happened and Pip agreed that because I had only just been re-homed, it was only right that the rescue helped pay for the operation, but mom was worried that EGLR isn’t a big rescue, and relies on kind people to give donations. Pip reassured her that people are so kind and generous that she was sure that people would club together to help me get my operation. Mom says that with the operation x-rays and aftercare, it is going to cost about £800 but Pip says that I am worth every penny so please if you can help me get back I my four paws, I would be every so grateful.
