28th August 2008
This is Missy's story. We will keep you all updated on her progress and will post pictures of her puppies when we are able. We would like to request if anyone has any spare bedding, sheets or towels any dried puppy or adult dog food. We would be very grateful as we are running quite low at the moment. If you can help, please contact Pip or Linda to arrange delivery or collection.
10th September 2008
Missy delivered a healthy litters of 9 puppies on Sunday 30th August. The puppies are now a week old and doing well some of them are the spitting image of Mom.
Mom is coping well even though it is such a big litter. They are all a healthy size and are feeding well. Missy is a wonderful mom and is looking after them well - when she has been in the garden she comes in and counts them all to make sure they are all still there. We will continue to keep you all updated on their progress.
29th September 2008 Update from Pip:
Unfortunately Mom has found feeding 9 hungry mouths very difficult so on vet's advice we have weaned the 4 largest pups of the litter and all is going well. They are eating solids and loving their new foster mommy.
These four largest are now ready for viewing and reserve, and the remaining 5 are now doing much better with (as is Missy) and will be ready for viewing in a few weeks.
Missy is still only a pup herself and to see her trying to be such a good mum breaks my heart. One minute she is fussing over them, cleaning and feeding them and the next she is running around trying to get them to play with her.
Why on earth people allow their female dogs to be bred from at such an early age is beyond my comprehension.
Missy herself will not be available for rehoming for at least 4 to 6 weeks.
(We will update with new pictures as soon as we have some).
20th November 2008: *NEW*
All of Missy's puppies have now been weaned and Missy has been spayed and is regaining her girlish figure. She is in much better health and is off to a new foster home soon.
